Something Must Be Done ...

As we worship together and enjoy God’s presence it’s become clearer to me that God desires that our hearts be drawn to his. His heart is for people, and so we need to have a heart for the people He has sent to us to serve. Our worship will not have integrity until it’s complimented by our actions to touch the impoverished communities around us.

The time for us to turn a blind eye to the communities is passed, if me and you do something, someone’s destiny can change forever. On a recent trip to Vumba we met a community that has 29 families and 11 kids. The kid’s are forced to be in the forest most of the days as there is no food for them at home. Secondly, they are not in school because going to school requires them to have strength to climb and descend on the gradient slopes of Vumba, and without food they have to limit the days they go to school. At their small school of 45, only 3 teachers are at work. One has been there consistently while the other two have missed school due to lack of remuneration.

Perhaps you and me are the change they have been waiting for…it became clearer to me that:

Something needs to be done,
Someone needs to do it,
It might as well be me, and you,
Because we can…

The Plan
If we come together and contribute what we can, we can help change the order of day for those kids. We can coordinate our efforts through our AST Foundation office, it starts with us.
Specific needs for this community are as follows:

Food - Farming inputs (Seed – 290kgs)& Fertilizer, this will be to empower them to fend for their families.
Education - Arranging a meeting with the 3 members of staff & incentivize them to teach the children through the course of the term. (Dec or Jan)
- Buy books and pens for the children for a start. See list of children below.

Our efforts will be in synergy with the place of employment for this community as they are farm workers. Please contact us for any ideas or contributions you can make. Some of you we’ve spoken already and you have contacts for seed, some for fertilizer, some for food packs (for the short term needs), and some of you can contribute cash.

Let’s be the difference!

You Have To Be Willing To Miss It To Make It!

Today I write as a young entrepreneur in Harare, Zimbabwe who is pursuing a global reach & impact from the fastest falling economy ever in world history. An inflation that’s untold, a banking systems that’s collapsed, a currency that is ineffective, a health system that’s seized to serve its original purpose, a legal system that does not compliment good governance, and more indescribable circumstances!

Pursuing your dream in a country like mine is definitely a major faith project, perhaps the biggest you’ll ever face given the surface circumstances I’ve described above. When the reality on the ground is different from what the Lord promised through His written and spoken word. When the perpetual situation seems to be deteriorating by the days, when everything that you've ever know is tested beyond your current ability. Are you going to stick to what God said for your breakthrough to come, or will you throw in the towel and settle for what you know is mere existence. Will you quit being the world changer you were called to be, settling for making a living, as opposed to giving a living to those within your influence and your reach…?

As I’ve marched on a step at a time, developing a market for our services, it’s important for me to learn and embrace this truth: You have to be willing to miss it to make it! It could be a business venture, or a career path, or studying at that university you’ve always dreamt of, or pursuing a relation, or better still starting that project to feed those kids, reconciling a family or social relation…it’s all the same. There will always be a risk of missing it in your pursuit. If you will wait for the risk to disappear, then you might never step out.

You miss 100% of the shots you do not take so do something! As the year draws to a close, take time to reflect on your experiences. Reflection is what adds wisdom to experiences. See what you can do better, and perhaps it’s time for you to be flexible on your approach, yet remaining TRUE to your vision and purpose! I’m preparing our mega strategy for our business, I feel like this year was warm up for us, and now we enter into the ring of success!

Your success is to be measured, not so much by the position you haves reached in life, as much as by the obstacles you overcame while trying to succeed. Keep running, keep watching, and keep trying!

Your name is written in the book of success. May God Teach you to remain true, especially when it is difficult.

See you soon.

Let Hope Arise!

Today I realize, once again, How great our Lord and God is. When you take a moment to gather all of the pieces of your life and aim them at Him in Worship, it’s amazing how all my situations and my issues suddenly appear small. He is God, Our God…I read that “The hour is coming, and has now come, when the true worshipers will worship Him in Spirit and in Truth, for He is seeking such to worship Him. (Jh 4.24)

In your situation, choose at this instance to focus on Him, the author and perfecter of your faith. He is the Shepherd of your soul. He declares that no longer shall the sun be your light, nor shall the moon be your light, that that He himself, the light of His glory shall be your light. This happens when you begin to give Him the worship that is due to Him. Ascribe to the Lord the glory that is due to Him, and you will see your situation begin to melt like wax!

“Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, and the things of this earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and His grace”…those are the words of an old hymn that you might remember. Let Hope Arise In you. The world is waiting for the God in you, may His love replace the fear in you!

     Isaiah 60:19-20

"The sun shall no longer be your light by day,
     Nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you;
But the LORD will be to you an everlasting light,
     And your God your glory.
20 Your sun shall no longer go down,
     Nor shall your moon withdraw itself;
For the LORD will be your everlasting light,
And the days of your mourning shall be ended.

Associations – Who you with?

One of the reasons I enjoy writing is because I believe that our experiences with God always have a principle hidden in them, that if shared, becomes a stronger conviction in my life, and more importantly, they help someone else relate and understand some of what they are walking through. A good example is the bible…Men who shared and documented their experiences with their Master, now inspire us to live a victorious life! When will you start to write your story? Earlier this week someone said to me” Tus, you have blog competition!” because one of our associations had started a blog. I don’t view that as competition, instead I’m glad that someone else is sharing their story…the story of how they became. I look forward to your story!

As you read through my blog I trust that you are seeing some of the change that is going on in my life. Better still, I hope you are going through significant change as well. Change is a sure sign of growth. If you are not changing, then you are not growing. Happiness is a result of growth! So check if you’re growing by inspecting your happiness.

I’m fast learning that a man is not changed by his experiences or as I previously thought, the people meets. Instead, a man is changed by the words that pass through his life. It is how you interpret a situation or an experience that determines how it changes you. Recently I spent a week in the City of Chicago. This was the most insightful experience that I’ve had this year, because of the lessons I learnt from the dolphins at the Aquarium, the history at the Field’s museum, the Planetarium, and the all beautiful Ritz Carlton Hotel! Looking back, I realize that I learnt some life changing lessons because of the men that I was with and their Words! Someone on the same trip on holiday won’t have the same perspective when they travel alone, with no words to compliment the experience.

All through the bible we learn that the destiny of all the kings was determined by which prophets they listened to. Similarly, your destiny is in the hands of your prophets, that is, those that you decide to listen to and take their advice. In light of this, you have to carefully choose your relations and your associations, and diligently cultivate the ones you choose. Surround yourself with people who are full of words of victory, and soon you will exhibit the seed of greatness that lies inside of you.

It’s not always popular to redefine the relations around you, my question to you is, How bad do you want what the Lord has promised you? As I’ve been thinking about this subject I also realize that u have to continually grow in order to remain relevant to my friends, lest I become obsolete and boring to them! Invest in yourself so that you can be of quality association to those around you, that’s what I leave with you. Be prayerful as you choose your associations, for they affect your tomorrow. I look forward to your comments of this and other topic discussions!

He Still Made A Way: Despite Of Me

On my 25th birthday, Saturday 23rd August 2008 I had the greatest honor of sharing God’s word with the generation at our young adults group. The level of responses that came back after this night were humbling, yet worthy of His praise as I began to see a generation being set free from their mistakes! If you are reading this, today God has an appointment with you. Remember this: God’s purpose for your life took into account your mistakes. You might be shocked by your mistakes and “messes” in life, but God isn’t. he’s made a way for you already.
A lot of young people (and old alike) have quit on God and themselves because of things they’ve done, that were a shock to them. The bible says though that “If any man be in Christ he is a new creation, the old is gone and the new is come. If you are that person it’s time to get up and get going. God wants to reveal Himself to this generation through you and your life and your imperfections. He has invested so much in you. You owe it to this generation to allow them to see God through you. Rise up young man, rise up young lady! I listened to a song on the Saviour King DVD and it seemed to articulate some of what I am saying.
Where I could have drowned in the depths of my failings, you still made a way when you saw me through your eyes, the eyes of your grace. Indeed you are my freedom, the reason that I can sing for joy, the reason I can wake up to dance for you, to praise you and life you high.

I simply learn to bow again at your throne because you saw me at the same place of failure, and you loved me still. It cost you your very own son, yet you still made a way. Indeed you are the reason I’m kneeling again at your throne, I simply learn to bow.
I receive your faith at your word, to approach your throne of grace boldly where you have made a way for me. I live free to speak to a generation that seeks your freedom. O Lord, where would I be without you in my life.
I have a mandate to minister this grace to a generation that is bound by law. This generation needs to see themselves through His eyes of grace. With all our failures, Jesus has made a way for our freedom. There is therefore now no condemnation for those in Christ. Once you are free, you can also share this freedom. God’s purpose for your life took into account your mistakes. I look forward respond with your thoughts and comments and perhaps we could begin a grace series!

The Inward Witness

Thursday, June 26, 2008
It’s 6:03 am and the daily reading today (Ps 68 & Acts 15) is filled with such relevant revelation for this trip that I am on. I’m surrounded by a dam in this thatched lodge, right at the top of a hill, the view is great. I feel like a king, after all, I’m a king’s kid and it’s never been clear that God delights in my prosperity so intensely. I’m coming to an understanding of God’s desire for the prosperity of His saints, that He is guiding my footsteps at each stage of this journey of how I became. Here is a few nuggets from my experience with God on this trip, 450km from home!

The Inward Witness

It’s become evident in my walk with the Father that you face your greatest battle before your greatest miracle, or your biggest breakthrough. It is at this time that you must hear God for yourself, and not necessarily follow the multitudes, or else you stay in the same place for that season. Travelling at this time was not a great idea for a lot of people, yet within me I felt a peace about the trip. I felt that the Lord had prepared an open gateway for me for this trip, despite the instability in the country.

As Luke writes the gospel of Luke and the Acts of the apostles, this is what he says:
• Acts 15:25 - it seemed good to us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul• Acts 15:28 - For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things:• Acts 15:34 - However, it seemed good to Silas to remain there.

“It seemed good” – The apostles in Acts carried out their mission from God according to what seemed good. This is the inward witness of the Holy Spirit. Sometimes we miss the supernatural because we are looking for the spectacular e.g. dreams & visions, but the Lord speaks to us through the inward witness as much as he can through a vision or a dream.

What Are You Standing On?

A few minutes ago I was ministering to university students at our biggest campus in the country, and while I was at it, God arrested my spirit concerning the things I was sharing! Immediately I knew I had to document this encounter and this experience with God. And share with you!

Isa 60:1-2 Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. In this season I believe God wants every area of our lives to arise. Every dead thing in our life, our love for him, our devotion to Him, our hunger for righteousness, our fruit, He wants it to arise to a place which can be seen to reveal His glory in us. He wants you to shine, and nothing shines in secret! Your obedience in the secret place will result in elevation in the public eye, and God will shine His glory through you. This is no time not to shine, in and through Him.

The part that I got arrested is “For your light has come”. This light is not the physical light. It is the illumination of the word of God in our hearts and in our lives. We know that the entrance of His word brings light, so it is the revealed word of God that will cause us to arise and to shine in His glory. For God’s word to be shine in and through us, we must have an unusual devotion to it. God’s word is his thoughts, and his strategy for us to arise and shine in the areas that He has called us in.
Outside of the guarantees and the promise and the revelation of His word in our hearts we will not stand the test when it comes. When the rain, the floods and the winds of life come your way, in different forms, it is the foundation of the revealed word of God in your hear that will make you stand. I’ve had a fair share of these, and it is the word of God that has sustained me.

Ps 33:11 The counsel of the LORD stands forever, The plans of His heart to all generations. If you want your God given vision to stand, then you must stand on the counsel of God, because it stands forever. What are you standing on?

I’ll close with the words of a song sung by Brooke Frazer, “None But Jesus”: “Now I live to bring Him praise…I am yours and you are mine…All delight is in you Lord, all of my hope, all of my strength, forevermore.”
Bless you, and I await your feedback.
In His Grip,
Tuscanie.

Voice of Truth

The Voice of Truth
As you continue on your journey you will realize that there are many voices that seek to get your attention on a daily basis. These voices are all calling your name, and sometimes when they do, you’ll need the grace of God! As you carry on in this good fight of faith, learn to hear the Voice of Truth.

When Elijah was on the mountain, the mountain shook, and God was not in it. The winds blew hard and The Lord was not in it. There was even a fire on the mountain, but still God was not in it. Finally, God spoke in a still small voice (1 Kings 19.11). In your life, there will be plenty of these voices, and none of them are without significance to some degree. Yours is to learn to hear the Voice of Truth.

It’s the voice of truth that feeds your faith, it’s the voice of truth that gives you courage in the face of a giant situation; it’s the voice of God. You learn to identify this voice by spending time with the One who speaks with this voice. Through prayer, in meditating on His word (Josh 1.8), and in associating with those who believe and love to hear this voice.

When a mother hears her baby cry in the midst of other babes, she will quicly identify the voice because she spends all the quality time with her baby. The bible says that My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me (John 10:27-28). NIV

Be blessed as you learn to hear the voice of Truth.

Blessings,
